                             INSTALLATION

- Run INSTALL.EXE
will make FILES and DIRECTORIES starting from current directory.

- Digit at prompt CHAMP
  this run the program.

IMPORTANT:
to continue to read this notes.

                           File CONGIG.SYS

Be sure your CONFIG.SYS file contains the line:
FILES=25
or a higher value.
Use a text editor to change CONFIG.SYS.
If necessary, you must reboot your system for the change to take effect.

                          MEMORY REQUIREMENTS

For CHAMP to function correctly, your system must have 500 Kbytes (512,000)
bytes of available conventional memory. Naturally, if you have more
available memory (550 Kb or more) CHAMP will run faster.
To check the amount of available memory, type MEM at the DOS prompt
(for DOS version 4 or later). For earlier versions, type CHKDSK.
If you need to free more conventional memory, refer to your DOS manual
for the correct procedure.

                           REQUIRED DISK SPACE

For CHAMP to run properly, you will need 400 Kbytes of free space.
on your hard disk.
To check the amount of available hard disk space, type DIR from the
DOS prompt.

                                TUTORIAL

In case you are not sure of how CHAMP can be used, the menu item
INFO-GUIDE has TWO brief examples to get you started on your way.

FILES FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP CREATED BY CHAMP

For each championship created with CHAMP there will be 5 files, with
the extensions CLD, DBT, GLS, MRC and SQD.
For example, for the championship 'SERIEA98' the related files will
 be: SERIEA98.CLD
	SERIEA98.DBT
	SERIEA98.GLS
	SERIEA98.MRC
        SERIEA98.SQD

They will be stored in the subdirectory DATA.

This information can be used in the following ways:
- To create backup copies of just the data:
- To store all the files from the DATA subdirectory on another disk
for safekeeping. (Not on the same disk as CHAMP.)
- To use the championship information from the DATA files for
another application outside of CHAMP, you could store them
  in a directory called DATA.

CONVERSION FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION OF CHAMP

There is a utility called CONVERT.EXE which allows you to use
the championship files created by an earlier version of CHAMP, converting
them into the new format.
This utility is only available with the registered version of CHAMP.
Including it in the shareware version would cause the file to be too
large to download from a BBS or other source.
