INSTALLATION
**********************************************************************
An installation program that works from within Windows is included
on your program disk or CD-ROM. This utility, SETUP.EXE (or
M3D25WEB.EXE if you have received this product from the internet),
can do any of the following:

* Identify all drives with enough space to hold the application
* Ask you to select one of these drives to hold the application
* Ask you to specify a target directory on the selected drive
* Automatically choose the most appropriate version of the
application for your particular system; or, allow you to choose
which version and which components to install.
* Decompress & copy program files to the program's directory
* Decompress & copy 3D data files to the program's subdirectories
* Decompress & copy ini files to the Windows directory
* If needed, install Win32s to your system
* Add icons to a program manager group or to the start menu
* If needed, restart your computer

The "Typical" installation requires little input from the
user and is recommended for most users.

The "Compact" installation is recommended for users with
limited disk space. This option will install the 16-bit
version of Molecules-3D, since it requires the least amount
of space.

The "Custom" installation is recommended for advanced users
or users who have trouble running Molecules-3D after a
"Typical" installation.

TROUBLESHOOTING
**********************************************************************
If, after installation, you have problems running the new software,
try some or all of these:

Windows 95 or WindowsNT users:
* Verify that you installed Molecules-3D for Windows95 or
WindowsNT. M3D for Windows 3.1x with Win32s extensions
will not run under Windows95 or WindowsNT.

Windows 3.1x users:
* Verify that you installed Molecules-3D for Windows 3.1x.
M3D for Windows95 or WindowsNT will not run under Windows 3.1x.
* If you installed the 32-bit version of Molecules-3D v2.5,
verify that you have installed the Win32s extensions. These
extensions are required before the 32-bit version of Molecules-3D
v2.5 will run under Windows 3.1x.
* Verify that you are running Windows 3.1 in Enhanced mode
* Make sure you have current stable video drivers. M3D pushes them hard.
* Set AUTOEXEC.BAT's SHARE statement to at least: SHARE /L:50
* In CONFIG.SYS, set FILES=50 and BUFFERS=60 (at a minimum)
* Remember to reboot if you change system files or install Win32s
