Overview

Imagine Viewer is an image viewer designed completely for speed.
From its creation in 1998, its sole purpose was to open hundreds
(or thousands) of pictures, view them, and sort them as fast as
possible. In order to do this, all of the primary controls (View,
Save, Clear, and Info) have been written into the main form.

If you have used image editors or viewers in the past, you will
remember the standard procedure to go through when you want to open
a picture -- click on File, Open, browse to it, then Open the
picture. While this is not so bad for one or two pictures, imagine
going through the process with 200 pictures! Others have continued
to use their web browser, whether it's Internet Explorer, Netscape
Navigator, etc., but this, too, can be a time-consuming operation,
as it is not easy to remember the names of the files if you want to
manually type it in, and it is also slow to continually use the
'Back' button of your browser and wait for the directory to load.

With all of these factors in mind, I have created this, Imagine
Viewer, to make it as easy as humanly possible to browse through
your pics. Whether you are a fan of Jpegs, GIFs, or Bitmaps,
this program may very well be your savior. It is none of my
business what type of pictures you collect, but I should tell
you that, with a family member's loss of one limb, I rearranged
everything to work completely one-handed.

Unfortunately, this version is not freeware. Originally, there
was a 15-day trial period. I have removed this, and added a nag
window which will first come up when you load Imagine Viewer, and
will continue to pop up for every 100 pictures you open with this
program. In order to get rid of this, you may register the program
for $10 (US) or 5 (UK). The address and information are at the
bottom of this document. Now let's discuss some of the other issues
related to this version, as well as old topics.

Something to keep in mind!

I cannot stress enough that some of the functions of this program
are not what you are used to. What I mean is that everything that
happens will work from the Files List -- not necessarily the
picture which is currently opened. If you open a picture, click
on a different file, then choose Copy, it will try to save the file
which is highlighted -- not the one you have opened.

Early on, it seemed that this might be a problem, so I tried to fix
it by adding the filename to the Title Bar. So that you won't forget
which picture is opened, the complete location and name of the opened
file are located at the top of the program.

Remember, though, that this is true of ALL features -- Delete, Info,
Save, etc., etc.

New things

In this version, I have added a 'Show Thumbnail' to let you view a
miniature version of the picture before you open it. The thumbnail
will disappear if you right-click on the thumbnail or change folders.

The Preferences have been updated to remember their status when you
open Imagine Viewer. For instance, if you UnCheck 'Show ToolTips',
it will remain unchecked the next time you open the program. This
true for all Preferences.

Tool Tips have also been added, which you may toggle on and
off under the Options menu. If they are on, a small pop-up will
appear if you leave the mouse cursor over a control. For instance,
if you leave the mouse cursor over the Exit button, a small window
will appear with the tip "Exit Imagine Viewer v2.0".

Oldies, but goodies:

In addition the new items, Imagine Viewer v2.00's interface include
