PLATFORMS:
Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Internet Explorer 4 or higher.

DESCRIPTION:
PassCrypt lets you store all your Web usernames and passwords, along with banking, email, and software registration data, in one convenient and secure place. If you use the optional password protection, your data is encrypted using a military-strength (448-bit) Blowfish cipher. The program has two main elements: a Password Editor for entering your data and creating reports, and a tray icon for quick access as you surf.

The Password Editor lets you organize your data into folders and subfolders, and offers full search capability. Folders are assigned to one of four categories, and within each category you can select which columns to display. The default folders are Banking, Email, Software, and Web. The Banking folder displays columns such as "Credit card number" and "Bank", while the Web folder lists "Username" and "Password". There are eleven columns to choose from.

The built-in password generator can generate either secure or simple passwords, and includes options to satisfy whatever requirements a site may have. An extensive reporting feature lets you customize reports to show, for example, all passwords that have expired. With the import and export functions you can load your data into other applications, or transport the data to another computer--for example, a work or home machine.

REVISION HISTORY:
Changes in Version 1.2:
- NEW: A five-level Undo feature lets you quickly correct errors. To Undo a change, just right click on the folder or item. The Undo menu text describes exactly what will happen so there are no surprises.
- NEW: An auto-complete feature speeds up data entry while protecting your privacy. Passwords are not included in the auto-complete if you have selected the "Mask passwords" option.
- NEW: The ability to drag-and-drop items between folders makes it easier to reorganize your data.
- NEW: The SHIFT and CTRL keys can be used to select multiple folders or records, just like in Explorer. Selected items can be deleted or moved to a new folder.
- NEW: If you drag records to new folders with the right mouse button, you'll get a popup menu with options for Copy and Move. The Copy option lets you use information from one item as a template for another.
- NEW: An optional Tip-of-the-Day message helps you to use PassCrypt more effectively. You can also access the tips from the Help menu.
- FIXED: On certain systems, the horizontal slider bar was incorrectly displayed directly under the main menu, and the grid in the Editor was not visible.
- FIXED: Dates that had expired were not displayed using a red foreground color within the grid. Also, the option to print only expired records was not working properly.

Changes in Version 1.1:
- NEW: The system tray dialog has a right click menu option for displaying the item's Notes text.
- NEW: You can quickly lock your database using the new 'Lock database' option in the system tray context menu.
- NEW: The File menu displays the last five files that were opened.
- NEW: You can rename the categories assigned to folders.
- NEW: You can rename column headings and select an icon for each column.
- NEW: You can select a default font size for reports.
- NEW: You can select whether to use the PassCrypt skin or the standard Windows appearance.
- NEW: You can drag-and-drop items from the Editor window grid into different folders, making data import much easier.
- IMPROVED: Data entry is easier and faster now that arrow keys automatically close the edit field and move you to the next row. Previously, you had to close the edit field using either the Tab or Enter key.
- FIXED: PassCrypt interfered with the operation of some clipboard caching utilities.
- FIXED: When editing data, if your CAPS LOCK key was on, the first key entered would be converted to lower case and the remaining keystrokes in upper case.
- FIXED: After making changes in the Master Password dialog, PassCrypt did not always prompt you to save your changes.
