System Spy Copyright c 1999 by Kevin Woodford and Stephen M. Younts

Installation:
Run the Setup program.
The user must have the Visual Basic 5.0 Runtime Files. The files may be obtained from various sites on the Internet.

Visual Basic 5.0 Runtime (& OLE Automation Files):
AsycFilt.dll
ComCat.dll
Ctl3d32.dll
MSVBVM50.dll
OleAut32.dll
OlePro32.dll
StdOle2.tlb

Purpose:
System Spy will "hide" on a user's computer and "record" the actions of another user through program title capturing.

Status:
System Spy is distributed as Shareware.

Features
* Captures active window title, time window was opened, time window was closed, and total time window was active.
* Invisible to user while running, including Task List (Ctrl+Alt+Delete).
* Option to "Hide" and "Record" at system start-up.
* Captured data is stored encrypted, in dated files (ex. "01.20.99.DAT") and can be deleted through System Spy interface.
* System Spy interface can only be displayed when a specified text file is opened. Specified text file can be stored off of computer.

Execution:
System Spy can be started in one of two modes: (1) interface is displayed with recording not active and (2) interface is invisible with recording active ("Hide and Record on Start-Up" box is checked).

To view an invisible System Spy interface, open the password ".TXT" file. The filename of the password ".TXT" file must be listed in the caption of the word processing program. The System Spy interface will then display after processing the recorded data. The password caption can be changed by clicking the "Password =" button.

With the interface displayed, the user can select data to view (dated file list box), then determine how the data is displayed ("Time Started", "Time Stopped", and "Duration" check boxes). Dated ".DAT" files can also be deleted from the interface.

Shareware Limitations & Registration:
The shareware version of System Spy is fully function, but stops recording and requires the user to enter information at 15-minute intervals. The registration price for System Spy is only $10.00. Please see "Register.TXT" for further ordering details.

After receiving the registration code, click the "UNREGISTERED" box on the "About System Spy" form, enter the code, press enter, and the 15-minute interruption will disappear.
