FAQ's

Q: What is RegBack?

A: RegBack is a utility that will help you save and restore the files
system.dat and user.dat otherwise known as the "registry".

The registry is used by windows 95 to store most settings on your
system and a problem with it can casue your computer to lock up or
crash. RegBack gives you an easy way to save and restore your
   registry files.

Q: It looks like a Dos program, how is this going to help me with a
   windows 95 registry problem?

A: If you have a major problem with your registry there is a good chance
you will not be able to run windows 95 in full or safe mode and the
only thing you will be able to run your system in is Dos mode.
It is for this reason RegBack is a Dos based program.

I have seen a few windows 95 based programs to save the registry, but
how do you get them to work when windows does not boot right?

With RegBack you just choose "command prompt" from the windows 95
startup menu (hit F8 when you see "starting windows 95")
and change to c:\regback then type "regback" and restore
   your registry.

Q: How do I use RegBack?

A: First start RegBack and make a backup of your registry...
   1. Save registry
   Exit RegBack.

Then if you ever need to restore your registry start RegBack...
   2. Rebuild registry

Your saved registry will be restored.
   Then reboot your system.

Q: How often should I save my registry?

A: You should save it BEFORE you make any changes to your system...
add/remove hardware/software, if after the changes to your system seem
to be working ok then start RegBack and save your registry.

I hope that you find this program useful.
