We had a Tandy 1000 SL/2 donated to our agency. It has no book,
boots t to C:, has 7 files and 0 bytes left. It has a 3 1/2 DSDD
drive. Any info/specs on this unit would be appreciaed. DOS is a
3.3 version.

If you have access to the internet, query for the Tandy Support
Site "http://support.tandy.com". I have found it to be the
fastest way to get technical information on any Tandy Computer.
Failing this, use the Tandy faxback service at 1-800-323-6586,
and ask for document 1280.

What you are seeing is the ROM that the computer is booting up
from. I don't remember for sure, but I think that you need a
hard drive kit in the computer to boot up from a hard drive. If
you open up the case and find that there is no hard drive
installed, then order from Tandy Radio Shack 25-1095, which is a
hard drive controller, and almost any AT style IDE Hard drive up
to 540 Meg will work. I believe that the controller sells for
less than $30.00.
