I can see that I am helping to create another monster <G>.
Reference color, there are two colors to think of. The
exterior plane colors are controlled by camoflag.pac and
camoexp.pac - the AFRIKA versions were done by Shimizu. Use
those two files copied over the originals. Then fiddle with
the 380/391 byte combos to get different colors for the
exterior. For the interior views looking OUT, now those are
also custom made by me, for AFRIKA, but as long as they are
in the CP subdir, any plane can access them and "use" them".
For example, take a look at the Ju88 .int file. It
accesses custom wing panels. (I think they are 262 wings,
colored sand). Hex the sand wing panel names in the
Me262.int file and you will get sand colored wings. It is
just like the TUTHEX 7(8?), but instead of swapping wings,
you are just swapping wing.pnl files with different names,
because they are colored differently. Anyway, try this.
Also, yes, you can have 262s on both sides of the fence if
you REALLY wanted to. Copy the 262 into an American SPC
slot, and change the IFF byte. Might want to use old versus
new camo to help on ID (shirts and skins? <G>)
Have fun, you maniac.

Trevor
Hi. So you want to try some "hexing". What kind of
aircraft are you interested in? I'm still trying to work a
bunch of Yaks, there is never enough time. Here is a
ME-2621a/U1 I worked up a while back.
DEBUG ME262A.EXP

Of course first copy the ME262a.SPC to say a ME262a.ORI
then copy the ME262a.SPC to a ME262a.EXP. So until you get
Anthonys "Managar" you will be able to use your hexed A/C
by copying the .EXP ontop of the .SPC file and restore then
original, (copy me262a.ori me262a.spc). Later Drew

Greg 'Strumer' Smith has hexed up a ME262 with the big
1 meter+ gun sticking out in front.
Here is the debug he worked up.

He had reduced the speed some and added some drag for
the weapon. Do you know how many rounds the gun had? I think
in the end Strumer decided there should be 21 rounds but
this version only has 16. Hunting fighters in this one can
get pretty interesting!<G> The shell has the trajectory of a
Mk108. I read that when the cannon was fired it pushed the
nose way over to the right. Later.

ME262 Armament Debug

Hi guys! I have been flying a ME262 armed with 1-50mm and
2-37 mm cannons. I hypothisized<g> that Hitler's orders were
carried out and this is the result;
E 1E0 04 08 01 01
E 1E8 01 07 00 00 1E 00 8B 04 64 00 01 00 32 00 2C 01
E 1F8 01 0E 01 00 3C 00 1D 05 32 00 02 00 32 00 5E 01
W
Q

  Otto
You could try this on the Do335!

    If you only want to add the 55mm to the Do335 try this;

E 1F8 01 1A 00 00 1E 00 1D 05 64 00 01 00 32 00 2C 01

The stall problem is gone. Guess what was causing it...
Those super rockets. As soon as I took them out, the problem
disappeared. Maybe you can figure it out, because it's
beyond me <G>
I did get the speed brakes working, that's a nice little
addition. I also zero'd out the deceleration rate when in a
steep climb. 5 to 35,000 in about 1.5 minutes! <G>
I also took out the added maneuverability (Sorry), but it
was a tad bit unfair to the enemy. Oh yeah, I also made the
plane worth 45pts if you shoot it down, seemed reasonable
<G>.
What makes me happiest is that I did all of this to the
stock, off the SWOTL disk, Me262a.spc file. I just added
the weapons strings you gave me for the UAX (minus the
rockets) and did the rest all by my little ole self! <G>

If it wasn't for the fact that you posted the plane instead
of building and mailing, I still wouldn't have a clue as to
what to do. For that, I am grateful! Not that I have a clue
anyway, but... <G>

BTW: What do I have to do to get that excellent camo (sand)
on the 262. You got it for one of the planes in Afrika, and
it looks great. How can I get it for this plane. Does it
change the appearance when viewed from other A/C?

Also, I noticed that I can change the plane from German to
American (or the reverse). If I do, could I set up a Me262
vs Me262 battle? I would love to see what it's like going up
against a 262 on even ground.

                     Me262/UX-1's over Afrika!
