Sturmer,
When I get your disk, I'll send them on a U-turn back
to you with these programs I just wrote, Pipe.Exe,
Dump.Exe, and SnR.Exe.
Dump.Exe is just a compare utility I wrote, but it will
create a hex-dump file without the Ascii characters on the
side some compare utilities put. Pipe.Exe is basically >>
like the debug sequence:
Debug TstPlane.Spc < Rockets.Hex
It will "pipe" in the Hex-Dump files created by
Dump.Exe into the specified file. Unlike Debug however, it
can handle files greater than 65,535 bytes. What this means
is that files like Flight.Ovl (100,000 bytes) can have the
changes inserted rather than a complete separate file. You
can probably chop the size of your Afrika module by more
than 50%.
SNR.Exe will allow you to change the Address in the
Hex-Dump file to whatever you want. This will make >>>>
coloring planes a lot easier, since the savefile created by
Juke does not have the same addresses as the various wing
files. I was able to complete a "night" Fw190, Cockpit,
Wings, Mirror, Backviews and all in about a half hour. All
the changes needed for these colors only took about 5000
bytes rather than the 60,000 plus bytes using separate
.Pnl files.
Oh yeah, I've written about 5 missions so far and I'll
be sending you them and any others I write as well so you
can have a taste of what the scenario will be like. Keep
pounding those missions out<G>. --Anthony
