SUBJECT: Contents Of README.SH File - Using Shell 4.0 With WP
          5.1+

README.SH 04/15/94

This README file contains information about using Shell 4.0 with
WordPerfect 5.1+.

You may experience display problems if you are using Shell 4.0 to
start WordPerfect with ScreenExtender. The problem occurs when
you switch to Shell then return to WordPerfect.

To fix the problem, you will need to add SHL_CMP.EXE to the batch
file. SHL.CMP.EXE is a utility that fixes some Shell
incompatibilities with other programs.

To edit the .BAT file,
1 Start WordPerfect 5.1+.
2 Press Text In/Out (Ctrl-F5), select DOS Text (1), then
select Retrieve (CR.LF to [HRt]) (2).
3 Enter the name of the batch file. The batch file is in the
WordPerfect 5.1+ directory you specified during the
installation process. The name of the batch file is one of
     the following:

     SWP5.BAT
     VMP5.BAT
     EWP5.BAT
     HWP5.BAT
     PWP5.BAT
     CWP5.BAT

4 Add SHL_CMP.EXE to the beginning of the line that invokes
WordPerfect 5.1+, which probably will be the second line of
     the batch file.

     For example,

     C:\WP51\VSXWP
     C:\WP51\SHL_CMP.EXE C:\WP51\WP
     C:\WP51\VSXWP /unload

5 When you are finished, press Text In/Out (Ctrl-F5), select
DOS Text (1), then select Save (1).

6 Press Enter to save the file.

To run the batch file while not under Shell, you must remove the
reference to SHL_CMP.EXE from the batch file or create another
batch file without the reference to SHL_CMP.EXE. Otherwise, it
will result in the following error message:

"Launcher Is NOT Loaded, Exiting Compatibility Module..."
