1. Intro
   o
        Hi. I'm Mellow-D. I made this.
If you don't want to read all of this, then please please please
atleast go to where I recommend a playing order and software.
Cubic player sucks. Mod4Win fucks up with small bottle.

Well, here it is, my second real musicdisk. Like the previous
time, these songs were made in a very brief period in which
a person is considered to have a lot of inspiration and such.
Fall has always been like this for me.

I'd first like to thank everyone for their awesome and huge
and endless and overgrown support, it's really where I've
got my strength to do things from, from people telling me
they want me to go on. That's priceless, THANK YOU.

And I'd also like to thank those who've told me to stop,
abort, discontinue. Without you I would have an even bigger
ego than what I have now. :-)

This disk is of course precious for me and all that. It
has a lot of influence from Underworld, and I mean A LOT.
You can probably hear that. And yes, all of those vocals
are completely self made. I'm actually surprised I got
myself to sing in key in the songs, even if it was just
        one key!

If you dig this disk, or if you hate it, please let me
know. I acknowledge the fact that everyone has room to
improve and I'd like to hear how you think I should.
        Look below for contact pointers.

Oh. And the songs are big intentionally. I don't make
small songs anymore, I don't care about the final size
anymore. It's useless to turn your samples into crap
just so that it's 100k smaller.

2. Song thoughts and playing order
   o

Underworld. Very, very, very very very! Underworld.
They've been such an inspiration on this disk. Great
stuff. Awesome, new styles of groove. Incredible.

The songs are probably going to be played in alphabetical
order, which is why I've renamed each of the files with
        a prefix number. :)

PLEASE DO NOT PLAY ANYTHING WITH CUBIC PLAYER. It just
fucks up most of the songs. Please atleast try using
FT2. I can't think of any good players but ft2 itself.
And don't forget that poetry in there. :)

Random thoughts while listening to each song follow:

   Fade Away
My good friend Tero Kokko (zapster) brought over some CD's
one day for me to sample, which is where I got most of the
loops from. The "fade away" sample is from the AWESOME
Apollo 440 song Liquid Cool. The man shouting is not me,
        it's someone from can't-remember-where.

There's always a constant beat in the background, panned
to somewhere so that it's not in the foreground when it
isn't supposed to be. The filtered samples (not 303)
are from miscellaneous synths that I've borrowed or had,
        for example the Wavestation A/D.

No personal feelings or such here, I had just been jonesing
for a groove. I like the way the bass and the filters
talk to each other, along with that one (the short) pad.

Ooh. Me didgeridoo. Them filters. Near the end.

   High Grounded
Very much rougher than the rest of the stuff. I actually
turn down the amplification in FT2 because this is a bit
overdriven :). More filters in the leads.

Heh, do you hear that panning feedback thing? Me and Mig
made that by plugging a mic into my effects processor,
plugging that into his set of analog effects, and going
(just once) "ha" into the microphone. No kidding. Wow.

This song has basically let off a lot of steam I had at
        the time.

   Self Angel
See yourself as an angel. This was done when I was
still living in Brussels (I live in Finland again now).
We went to see Seven with a bunch of friends, and when I
got back home I started to track. What a fantastic movie
        and what an inspiration!

The sound is intentionally as it is. The sound actually
reminds me of a VERY dusty room with the walls in very
bad shape, and everything has turned yellow from all the
        cigarette and other smoke.

Made in summer 96, this song was also greatly inspired
by Front 242. The vocals aren't me again, they've been
sampled in a random sampling session, FROM THE RADIO :)
        I got lucky.

   Small Bottle
A huge part of this song, drums, hihats, bassdrums, etc
were made by me on the microphone, thru the effects
processor. It started out as a test but ended up like
this :). It's quite minimalistic in the beginning, but
all of a sudden it goes along with Self Angel nicely
        and turns somewhat loud, industrial.

I am really surprised I could hold my voice in the same
key (I'm definitely no singer) in all the vocal samples
and it actually sounds good :)

   Potion
I'd like to use the fucking gus, please. Heh, that came
from when I first ran FT2 under Win95 (yuck) and tried
to sample something. In the sample editor, I clicked
Sample and started waiting for the sampling window to
appear. And waited. And fucking waited. For a LONG
time! Then the first thing I sampled was that ;)

The vocal loops are a bit noisy. Sorry about that.
Fuck me with your love potion.

This is definitely the most underworld of all of these
songs, and that's intentional. The pads are from the
Second Toughest in the Infants CD, the song Pearls Girl.
It's pretty much a tribute to underworld ;)
And everybody just goes away and like, they never come
        back and stuff.

not say anything about that yet.
