The 16 bit software runs on PCs with 386 processors
& 4 megabytes of RAM or better running DOS or Windows.

The 16 or 32 bit software will run on any computer
running the Windows 95/98 operating systems.

2.) INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Create a directory named acnsof and move the files
bb16e.exe and abb.txt to the acnsof directory. It
would also be a good idea to transfer the rest
of the files that you unpacked from bb16e.zip
to the acnsof directory. If you have already
established a new directory for these files it is
ok to use your new directory name. The programs will
run in any directory, but it is a good idea to
give them their own directory.

If you have the 32 bit version replace
bb16e with bb32e in the previous paragraph.

3.) STARTING INSTRUCTIONS:
From Windows95 enter these commands:
	hit the start key
	select run
	\acnsof\bb16e and click ok.

	alt+enter toggles the display between
	windows and dos type styles.

From DOS enter these commands:
	cd\
	cd acnsof
	bb16e

Follow the instructions on your computer's screen.
ONE QUICK OVERVIEW: the [up] and [down] arrow keys
change the selection, the current selection is
highlighted and you choose it and move a level
into the program with the [Enter] key. The [Esc]
key brings you out of the programs one level
at a time.

If you have the 32 bit version replace
bb16e with bb32e in the previous paragraph.

4.) USER'S GUIDE:
You may be able to use the programs by starting
them up and reading the on screen instructions.
If you think you can do this skip the rest of this
and get started. ONE QUICK OVERVIEW: the [up] and
[down] arrow keys change the selection, the current
selection is highlighted and you choose it and
move a level into the program with the [Enter] key.
The [Esc] key brings you out of the programs one
level at a time.

The programs are made from Scroll Lists, Menus,
and Information Screens. Scroll Lists are groups
of items that you key in. There are Scroll Lists
for Checkbooks, Cash Receipts Journals, Bank
Statement Totals, and many others. At the bottom of
every Scroll List is a bar with context sensitive help.

Menus are choices that take you where you want
to go. MENUS HINT: Each menu selection has a
number assigned to it. The number is in brackets
it looks like this {7} when the assigned number
is seven. You could move the higlight bar to
selection seven with the up and down arrow keys and
select it with the [Enter] key. Or hit the
[7] key on your keyboard to make selection seven
with one key stroke. This becomes more useful as you
learn the programs and is much easier than using a
pointing device.

Information Screens tell you what is happening,
or what you tried to do that you don't want to
do and why.

The programs take what you have keyed into the
Scroll Lists and prepare reports that are displayed
in Reporting Scroll Lists. Examples of Reporting
Scroll Lists are Average Daily Cash Balances,
Accounts Payable by Supplier/Vendor/etc., Current
Bank Reconcilliations, and many more. Reporting
Scroll Lists let you move from summary lists to
more detailed lists. The detailed lists show
every transaction that makes up your selection
from the preceding summary list.

Scroll list editing is very flexible and mistakes
in scroll lists are always correctible. Use the
keyboard key [F2], function two, to add a new item
to a list; [Enter] to change an existing item;
[F3] to replicate or delete an existing item;
[F4] to add items and more; [F5] to toggle
between date order and code order;
[F6] to prepare a paper printout;
[F7] to move through a list in giant steps
or to do lookups on most columns.

Don't worry about remembering all of the function
keys they are explained by every scroll list that
utilizes them. [F1] brings up a context sensitive
help menu that explains each active function key
and more.

5.) WHO NEEDS THESE PROGRAMS:
Everyone who has a personal computer, finances
to manage, and who can manage his or her
finances on a single computer.

( Side Note: )
( The programs are written in a Microsoft language )
( and promise to be scalable for multi-users with )
( Windows NT in the near future, using COM components. )

All of the combinations of checkbooks, payables,
receivables, and payroll are available with-out
general ledger for personal financial accounting.

The general ledger can be used to make
classifications for business income tax reporting.

The financial statements allow grouping of general
ledger accounts for GAAP reporting and for TAX
reporting. They allow you to maintain both sets
of books from the same basic transactions by
allowing both GAAP and TAX journal entries.
An example of a difference between GAAP
and TAX reporting is the calculation of
depreciation.

Here are some possible uses of Departments
and Consolidations:
*Persons who want their personal finances broken
down by his / hers / and joint.

*Construction companies who want to track projects.

*Non-profits who want to track funds.

*Sole proprieter business people who want to track
 personal and business expenses.

For each department you get a complete Balance Sheet
and Profit(Loss). You also get a consolidated
Balance Sheet and Profit(Loss). All reports are
available by department and consolidated, the accounts
payable reports are one example.

There are 49 possible combinations of options in
Acnsof Accounting Suite, so we have 49 evaluation
programs for you to try. They are Evaluation One
through Evaluation 49. We provide two years for
each evaluation so you can test the year to
year transfer features.

The 49th program is an invoicing program that
writes invoices and tracks sales by inventory item
and by customer/client.

6.) HOW TO SELECT YOUR PROGRAMS:
This is a tough question for us to answer
as it is unique for each user. Here are
some general comments.

Select payables if you have a significant
amout of bills that you do not pay right away.
If you only have a few it will probably be
easier to just have a small stack or file
of unpaid bills. If you need to record the
payables for financial or tax reporting
you or your accountant can do it with recording
and reversing journal entries.

Select payroll is easy on the surface. You
could use an outside service and transfer
totals into one of Acnsof's financial
recording and reporting systems.

11.) FAQ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

QUESTION 1: How do I handle credit cards?

ANSWER 1:Credit cards are added as a checkbook account, use
the same procedure you use to set up bank accounts.
Credit cards will normally have a negative balance and
bank accounts will normally have a positive balance.

When you write your monthly check to the credit card company
it is a transfer to the credit card account, so be
sure to record it in the credit card account's
Cash Receipts Journal. Record charges on your credit
card in the credit card account's Cash Payments Journal.
