Value

Version 1.0

This program will calculate the future dollar value (principle +
interest) of an account at X years in the future given an account
balance, time invested and the interest rate. This has importance for
purposes such as retirement planning, etc. The interest is calculated as
simple or as interest compounded daily, at the users discretion. Some
accounts earn interest compounded daily, some use interest compounded
continuously, and some use simple interest.

To run it, decompress it using pkunzip, then just go to the DOS prompt,
move to the drive and directory where value.com is located, and type
VALUE. The rest is simple and self-explanatory. Alternatively, you may
use the "RUN" command in windows or click on the file value.com in the
file manager using the mouse.

It was written in BASIC using a shareware compiler. This program was
written for MS-DOS; at least on my computer it appears to properly
perform in Windows. It will run better in DOS as opposed to in a DOS
prompt within Windows or in Windows proper.

Feel free to distribute it as shareware; if you like it, to help defray
my expenses you may pay whatever you desire to: R Raport, P.O. Box

improved version written in C++ if there is sufficient response. If you
have questions, suggestions, encounter a problem or find an error, you
may also e-mail me at rraport@courant.infi.net
