Summary:

BzztBzzt! lets you run game shows... like the kind found at Role Playing
  conferences, such as Intercon.

BzztBzzt! is not a game, but is a data collection tool. Allowing you to
moderate games with fairness, simply by having players press homemade
buzzer buttons (or for cheap people, joysticks). It uses your game port.

Instead of displaying text, BzztBzzt! displays graphic images THAT YOU
DRAW ... allowing you to customize the game's feel.

Thank You List

Appreciation is extended to several people: Colby Perkins who had the
need and put up with several compatability kinks. Barb Poff who helped
test and put up with Colby after I ruined the night with a compatability
  test.

Alan Garies who got all the parts I told him we'd need. Paul Stoneburner
who helped do some of the machine work; he also put the software through
  some very unique QA processes.

Tamara Stoneburner who spend endless nights being woken up to "hold this
button while I hold mine." May she never have to hear the words "One,
  two, three, Go!" again.

I also have to thank Colby for financing the project and using it in
  several shows at Intercon 9.

Disclaimer & Other Legal Stuff

  NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
In no event whatsoever shall the author, suppliers of BzztBzzt!, or
basically anyone in the universe (especially myself), be held liable
for any damages whatsoever (including, but without limitation to, damages
for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business
information, other pecuniary or data loss, paper cuts, or the destruction
of the galaxy) arising out of the use, abuse, misuse, or inability
to use this program, even if the author has been advised of the
possibility of such damages. If you are uncomfortable with the
above, please do not use the program or send any money. Look, this
program was written for personal use; it worked well for me, and I'm
virtually giving it away; I don't want my tush sued off because I
was just being generous. (This bag is not a toy!)

  NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED
You are free to try out the software for 30 days, you do not have to
send any money until you are satisfied with the program. Monies are
spent fast and cannot be returned. No warranty or guarantee is provided
that the software will operate as stated in this manual (but for some
  reason, it always seems to).

  GRANT OF LICENSE
After sending the registration card below, you are free to use BzztBzzt!
on as many personal machines as you can possibly get your hands on
from now until the Second Coming. However, businesses are site
licensed for a finite number of copies existing simultaneously on
  different machines (see registration card).

  COPYRIGHT
This software is owned by Walt Stoneburner. You are free to modify
and patch this version to suit your needs. However, please do not
redistribute the patched version; you may redistribute the patch
and/or instructions for making the patch. I would prefer that
people obtain clean copies in the event we choose to offer technical
support. It's hard enough to keep track of the registered users as
things currently stand. The program is to be released as BzztBzzt.ZIP

  TECHNICAL SUPPORT
We make no claims or promises for offering technical support. How
ever, if you write me, I'll consider it. If you bribe me, I'll take
  you very seriously.

  OTHER RESTRICTIONS
Don't hurt anyone. It isn't nice. Look both ways before crossing
the street. Kids, don't smoke or do drugs. And if you're gonna
drink and drive, get your parents' permission first.

  CUSTOMER REMEDIES
Take an aspirin. Read the directions. Read them again. Try a
different product or write one yourself if you're not happy. Aside
from that, I can't help you. If things get really nasty, try
dropping me a line -- if something is wrong, I would like to know
  about it, though.

Frequent Asked Questions

Q: I just ran BzztBzzt! and all I got was some graphics; I hit
ESC and got dumped to DOS. What does this thing do?
A: You MUST read the directions, or it won't make any sense.
BzztBzzt! is a TOOL for running gameshows, it is not a game.

Q: What part of the gameshow is it doing?
A: Remember when Alex asks a question and all players smack their
buzzers and he instantly knows who was first? That's what BzztBzzt
is for. In the event the player got it wrong, it goes to whoever
buzzed in second, and so forth.

Q: Do I have to register?
A: Only if you use it in a public game show. Home use is free.

Registration

If you are an individual and are using BzztBzzt! for personal use,
you're in luck.... Using BzztBzzt! will cost you nothing, technically.
However, I would like you to send in the registration form below
anyhow. By not charging a fee to private individuals, I'm hopeful
you'll feel more inclined to let me know you are using something I've
written, and encourage me to devote more free time to projects like
this. If you write something nice, I may send you the latest update out
  of my own expense.

If you are a company or are using BzztBzzt! in a public environment,
well... you're not as lucky as the individuals above. A lot of time
went into this software, and I still want to make it affordable to the
  open market.

    1) By registering, you are obtaining the legal right to use ALL PRIOR
VERSIONS of BzztBzzt!, -and- ANY SUBSEQUENT MAJOR VERSION RELEASES.
So if you register version v2.4, you can use v2.3 down to v0.0
if you felt like it or if you find them, as well as v2.4. Also,
if you see a v2.5 or a v2.9999999 out, you are registered for that
as well. I only register on the major version numbers. [ This goes
under the Stoneburner axiom of registration: I registered for a
product, I ought to be able to use what's obsolete, and I shouldn't
have to pay for bug fixes and minor enhancements. ]

    2) By registering, you get heard which means more specialized features.
The primary driving force behind software development is to see other
people using your product and getting something useful out of it. It
helps to feel that you aren't writing software for no reason. Just by
corresponding you can make the product better. Other WWCo products
have been updated and sent to people who just took the time to fill
       in the registration.

Please fill out the form in REGISTER.TXT and send to:
