If you read this text in Notepad, turn Word Wrap option On (Edit/Word Wrap). Only program restrictions are that must be unpacked in folder C:\Multiwin and all Windows versions between you want to switch must be installed on drive (or partition) C:\. If you don't have file Himem.sys in your Windows directory and file Attrib.exe in directory :\Windows\Command, you may find those two files in file Win95_02.cab on Windows 95 installation disk or in Base5.cab (Himem.sys) and Win98_40.cab (Attrib.exe) on Windows 98 installation disk. Like name says, with MultiWin you will be able to install more than one version of Windows 95/98/2000 on your computer. You ask, "Why should I install more than one Windows?" Because when you install and uninstall different programs or games your system directories becomes full of useless trash and your HD empty space become smaller and smaller. Or if you share your computer with your spouse or kids. (In this case I recommend MultiWin in combination with Kerber - http://members.xoom.com/dd_software and FolderGuard - www.winability.com). Or if you want to install different versions of Windows (e.g. Windows 95 and Windows 98; Chinese and English version; Hebrew and English version etc) If you install one Windows for your important programs and another for rest (games, testing programs, or if you have large HD one Windows for you, second for your spouse, third for kids etc.) with MultiWin you can easy switch between different Windows versions and your "business" Windows will work fine, fast and clean and your "games" Windows will work however it works. When "games" Windows gets messed up or become too large, just switch to "business" Windows and delete damaged Windows i.e. folders "Windows.new" and "Program Files.new" from HD. After that, by MultiWin install another copy of Windows for games and rest. Program work in safe mode, so if your "games Windows" gets messed up really heavy, start it in safe mode, switch with MultiWin to "business" Windows and do why I say up. If this not works, simply in DOS rename messed Windows in something else (e.g. ren Windows Trash) and after that rename "business" Windows (ren Windows.old Windows) and reboot. When system starts, delete folders Trash and "Program Files.new" and rename "Program Files.old" to Program Files and reboot again. For installing this program just make folder C:\Multiwin on your hard disk, unpack this archive in this folder and make shortcut to the program on your desktop or program group you want. When you start program, enter some description (e.g. Old Windows) in "Description" text box and extension (e.g. Old) in "Extension" text box which will be used for your "internally" description and click on Description button. Data will be saved and button be disabled. For installing another Windows, click on Install Another Windows and follow instructions. In one moment, Windows setup will find your old Windows directory (now named Windows.Old in my example) and ask you do you want to install to same directory. Answer no and type just C:\Windows (or delete .Old) and click Next. Next you will see is screen with alert that your already installed programs will not work until you reinstall it. Answer OK and continue setup. When you finish installation of "secondary" Windows, start MultiWin and enter description (e.g. New Windows) and extension (e.g. New) and click on Description button again. Data for new Windows will be saved and "Description" button will be disabled. Then, make shortcut to program on your desktop or program group you want. Also delete file restore.bat on the root of drive C:\. If something goes wrong during you installing "New" Windows, go directly to root of drive C:\ in DOS (type "CD\" without quotes and prompt will be C:\>), type "restore" (without quotes) then press Enter (Return) and reboot your machine. Ignore all error messages until Windows start. After that, start Explorer and delete folders C:\Trash and C:\Program Files, rename folder Program Files.old to Program Files, then reboot again and your system will be restored. If new Windows is successfully installed, when you want to change from one Windows to another, select another Windows in drop-down box and click Change. If you want to remove current Windows, right click on drop-down box when selected description for current Windows that you want to remove and select "Remove". Then, go to Windows that you want to save and delete second Windows manually (e.g. if you want to delete New Windows, go to Old Windows, in explorer/view/folder options/view choose show all files and delete folders Windows.New and program Files.New). If you want to uninstall program, simply delete program directory from your hard disk.
